The kinds of projects I do most often.
Investigating where and how a non-residential site uses water, then identifying the practical actions worth taking and the existing measures worth keeping. Often bespoke to each site, with close analysis of any available flow data, a collaborative approach with site staff and a focus on actions with the best return on investment. Also called water audits. I have deep experience across commercial, industrial, manufacturing, government, health, aged care, education, entertainment and accommodation sites.
For water utilities and government: practical feasibility and benefit-cost assessment of non-residential water efficiency programs for both long-term community value and short-term drought response. For larger urban water demand management planning, I usually work alongside partners who lead the modelling, economics and business-case work.
A sound water risk assessment or stewardship plan is multi-faceted and uniquely local to the catchment. My cross-industry experience allows a pragmatic approach that spans the gap between operational and planning teams - converging on the key items amongst upstream sources, downstream discharges, stakeholder interactions, environmental impacts and emergency scenarios.
Applying real-world insights from water efficiency assessments where they help to ground benchmarking, portfolio management, network and supply planning, and wastewater management.
Targeted training and mentoring so you can track water efficiency performance and identify further opportunities yourself. From context-grounding and top tips to full technical upskilling for detailed site walkthroughs and analysis.
Flosaic is Adam Jones.
My engineering career of 20+ years has been almost entirely dedicated to non-residential water efficiency and management. This is grounded in a hands-on, data-driven approach to detailed water efficiency assessments across a wide range of sites and scales, in almost all industry sectors and regions of Australia.
I have a particular interest in giving organisations the confidence to implement the best improvements to suit their context, as well as building trust in the utility-customer relationship. At the strategic level, I'm regularly involved in advising on the design and refinement of government and utility non-residential water efficiency programs and policies, and I've been an elected committee member of the Australian Water Association's Water Efficiency Specialist Network for over ten years.
I strictly sell nothing but advice, and I believe that advice should always be credible, useful and practical.
My goal is to do the best work I can to support industries and communities to use water well.
